HIGH HOLIDAY LEARNING
Rabbi Jeremy Schwartz shares this yearβs thoughtful and timely High Holiday sermons, including reflections on the tumultuous times we currently live in:
Resurrecting the Dead and Sprouting Salvation
A Statement of Heartbreak and Commitment
On October 7, 2023, our hearts were broken by the heinous Hamas attack on Israel and Israelis. They continue to be broken by the suffering of our literal and metaphorical siblings and cousins in Israel and in Gaza. Yet our tradition insists that we never despair. Psalm 34:15 teaches, βTurn from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it!β Members of our congregation might not agree on the best direction in which to pursue peace, but pursue it we must.
If you are blessed with the means and motivation to do good and seek peace, to relieve a little of the suffering and provide a little hope, this page includes some suggestions of organizations you might support.
